| Weight: 759.0 grams, BCS: 2.5 S: Right wing, feet, tail all stuck to glue trap O: Used mineral oil to remove from trap. ------------- PHYSICAL EXAM FINDINGS ---------------- Mentation: BAR Temp (F): 102.2 Dehydration (%): 5 Neurologic: WNL Head/mouth/beak: Glue stuck under chin and on beak - likely was trying to get some off of feathers Ears: WNL Eyes: WNL Wings: WNL Legs: WNL Feet: Covered in glue/dirt Body: WNL Feather condition: Right primaries destroyed by glue - some may be impable, tail feathers impable also destroyed by glue Ectoparasites: none Radiographic findings: Old right radius fracture already callused and stable Initial treatment: 30cc LRS SQ, 0.5cc Meloxicam PO A: Healthy barred owl stuck in glue trap. Major feather damage to right wing and tail. Slightly dehydrated but likely was only in trap for about 24 hours. Old right radius fracture seen on rads already callused. P: Rx Fluids and Meloxicam. Perform complete feather check tomorrow to see what feathers are impable. Collect blood and fecal tomorrow. Apply mineral oil as needed to keep feathers from sticking to each other.
